Thanet Jobs, Skills and Apprenticeships Fair
Friday, 5 October, 10am – 3.30pm
‘The Hall By The Sea’ within Dreamland, Margate
Thanet’s MPs, Craig Mackinlay and Sir Roger Gale, have confirmed that this year’s Thanet Jobs, Skills and Apprenticeships Fair will take place in October.
The Fair - which is being jointly organised by Craig and Sir Roger - is being supported by Margate and Ramsgate Jobcentres, as well as Thanet District Council, and sponsored by local employers and trainee providers Blaze Signs, East Kent College, FUJIFILM and Orbit.
It will be held at the ‘The Hall By The Sea’ within Dreamland, Margate, on Friday 5 October 2018 between 10am and 3.30pm.
This will be the MPs’ second Jobs Fair. Their previous event, held in 2016, was supported by dozens of exhibitors across a wide variety of sectors, and offered over 2,000 positions.
South Thanet MP, Craig Mackinlay, commented:
“Sir Roger and I very much hope this year’s Jobs Fair will be even bigger and better than before.
“We are securing the attendance of high quality employers such as the police and prison service, the NHS and military, MiddletonMurray, Barclays Bank, Thorley Taverns, Pfizer and scores of local smaller businesses regularly.
“The Fair will be entirely free for all of those who wish to attend and we would strongly encourage anyone currently seeking work, looking to learn new skills, or considering a change of career, to visit as we fully expect there to be a whole array of opportunities on offer.”
North Thanet MP, Sir Roger Gale, added:
“Craig and I know from past experience that this event benefits employers and jobseekers alike.
“Those looking for work and those seeking to advance their careers have a great opportunity to explore vacancies while employers get the chance to set out their stalls and to attract the recruits that they and our rapidly developing local economy need”.
